Day 01

Arrival in Colombo

Morning: Arrive in Colombo and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon: Visit the Gangaramaya Temple, one of the most important Buddhist temples in Colombo. Explore the National Museum of Colombo to learn about Sri Lanka’s history and culture. Evening: Stroll along Galle Face Green for sunset views over the Indian Ocean, followed by dinner at a nearby restaurant..

 

Day 02

Colombo to Kandy

Morning: Drive to Kandy (3-4 hours). Check into your hotel and relax. Afternoon: Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most sacred places for Buddhists. Explore the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, known for its extensive collection of orchids and tropical plants. Evening: Enjoy a cultural show featuring traditional Kandyan dance and drumming.

 

Day 03

Kandy to Sigiriya

Morning: Drive to Sigiriya (2.5-3 hours). En route, visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, a complex of cave temples with impressive Buddhist murals and statues. Afternoon: Climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, also known as the Lion Rock. Explore the ancient ruins and enjoy panoramic views from the top. Evening: Relax at your hotel or explore the local area around Sigiriya.

 

Day 04

Sigiriya to Polonnaruwa

Morning: Take a day trip to Polonnaruwa (1.5-hour drive), the ancient capital of Sri Lanka. Explore the Polonnaruwa Archaeological Site, including the Royal Palace, Quadrangle, and the Gal Vihara with its impressive rock-cut Buddha statues. Afternoon: Continue exploring Polonnaruwa or take a safari in Minneriya National Park to see elephants and other wildlife. Evening: Return to Sigiriya and relax at your hotel.

 

Day 05

Sigiriya to Nuwara Eliya

Morning: Drive to Nuwara Eliya (4-5 hours), a hill station known as “Little England” for its cool climate and colonial architecture. En route, stop at a tea plantation and factory to learn about Sri Lanka’s famous Ceylon tea. Afternoon: Explore Nuwara Eliya, visiting Victoria Park, Gregory Lake, and the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club. Evening: Enjoy a leisurely walk through the town or relax at your hotel.

 

Day 06

Nuwara Eliya to Ella

Morning: Take a scenic train ride from Nuwara Eliya to Ella (approx. 3 hours), one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world. Afternoon: Visit the Nine Arches Bridge, an iconic railway bridge surrounded by lush greenery. Hike to Little Adam’s Peak for stunning views of the surrounding valleys and tea plantations. Evening: Explore the laid-back town of Ella and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

 

 Day 07

Ella to Galle 

Morning: Drive to Galle (4-5 hours), a historic coastal city. Afternoon: Explore the Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site with well-preserved colonial architecture, museums, and shops. Visit the Galle Lighthouse and stroll along the fort walls with views of the ocean. Evening: Enjoy a seafood dinner at one of Galle’s charming restaurants.

 

 Day 08

Galle to Colombo and Departure

Morning: Drive back to Colombo (2-3 hours). Depending on your flight time, explore more of Colombo or relax before your departure. Afternoon: Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
