Day 01

Arrival in Gangtok

Morning: Arrival in Gangtok: Arrive at Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station and drive to Gangtok (approximately 4-5 hours). Check into your hotel and freshen up. Afternoon: MG Marg: Explore MG Marg, the bustling main street of Gangtok, lined with shops, cafés, and restaurants. Lunch: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant like The Square or Baker’s Café. Evening: Enchey Monastery: Visit Enchey Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in Gangtok, offering peaceful surroundings and a glimpse into Buddhist culture. Dinner: Dine at your hotel or a popular restaurant in Gangtok.

 

Day 02

Gangtok Sightseeing

Morning: Tsomgo Lake: Take an early morning drive to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft), a glacial lake surrounded by mountains. If visiting in winter, you may see the lake frozen over. Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple: Visit the nearby Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple, a shrine dedicated to an Indian army soldier. Afternoon: Lunch: Return to Gangtok and have lunch at a local restaurant. Institute of Tibetology: Visit the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, which houses a vast collection of Buddhist scriptures, statues, and masks. Rumtek Monastery: Explore Rumtek Monastery, the largest monastery in Sikkim, known for its beautiful architecture and spiritual ambiance. Evening: Tashi Viewpoint: Visit Tashi Viewpoint to catch a panoramic view of the Kanchenjunga range at sunset. Dinner: Enjoy dinner at 9’ine Native Cuisine or another local restaurant.

 

Day 03

Gangtok to Lachung

Morning: Drive to Lachung: Depart early for Lachung (approximately 6-7 hours), a beautiful mountain village in North Sikkim. En route, visit Seven Sisters Waterfalls and Naga Waterfalls. Afternoon: Lunch: Stop for lunch at a local restaurant on the way. Singhik Viewpoint: Stop at Singhik Viewpoint for mesmerizing views of Mt. Kanchenjunga. Evening: Arrive in Lachung: Arrive in Lachung, check into your hotel or guesthouse, and relax. Dinner: Enjoy a traditional Sikkimese dinner at your accommodation.

 

Day 04

Lachung – Yumthang Valley – Gangtok

Early Morning: Yumthang Valley: Depart early for Yumthang Valley (known as the Valley of Flowers), famous for its stunning landscape, hot springs, and vast meadows. If visiting in spring, the valley is covered in colorful flowers, particularly rhododendrons. Optional Zero Point (Yumesamdong): You can drive further to Zero Point (if the roads are open), which is the last point before the Indo-China border. This area often has snow, even in summer. Afternoon: Lunch: Return to Lachung for lunch. Drive back to Gangtok: After lunch, drive back to Gangtok, enjoying the scenic views along the way. Evening: Relax and Dinner: Arrive in Gangtok, check into your hotel, and relax. Enjoy dinner at your hotel or a local restaurant.

 

Day 05

Gangtok to Pelling

Morning: Drive to Pelling: Depart for Pelling (around 4-5 hours), a picturesque town in West Sikkim known for its close-up views of the Kanchenjunga range. Afternoon: Check-in and Lunch: Check into your hotel in Pelling and have lunch. Pemayangtse Monastery: Visit Pemayangtse Monastery, one of the oldest and most important monasteries in Sikkim. Rabdentse Ruins: Explore the Rabdentse Ruins, the remains of the second capital of the former Kingdom of Sikkim, offering a glimpse into the region's history. Evening: Helipad Ground: Visit the Pelling Helipad Ground for a panoramic view of the mountains. Dinner: Enjoy dinner at your hotel or a local restaurant.

 

Day 06

Pelling Sightseeing

Morning: Kanchenjunga Waterfalls: Visit the Kanchenjunga Waterfalls, one of the major tourist attractions in Pelling. Khecheopalri Lake: Explore Khecheopalri Lake, a sacred lake surrounded by dense forest. The lake is revered by both Buddhists and Hindus. Afternoon: Sanga Choling Monastery: Visit Sanga Choling Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in Sikkim, offering stunning views of the surrounding hills. Lunch: Have lunch at a local restaurant. Evening: Sky Walk and Chenrezig Statue: Experience the Pelling Sky Walk, India's first glass skywalk, leading to the giant Chenrezig Statue. Dinner: Dine at your hotel or a nearby restaurant.

 

Day 07

Departure from Pelling

Morning: Local Shopping: Spend your morning shopping for souvenirs or exploring the local markets. Afternoon: Departure: Drive back to Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station (around 4-5 hours) for your onward journey.
