Dodital Trek(Uttarakhand)

Day 01

DEHRADUN - UTTARKASHI (1,550m) (145 KM DRIVE APPROX).

After breakfast board coach and drive to Uttarkashi. The day starts with a beautiful drive towards Uttarkashi. It is the sangam or confluence of the Varna and Assiganga Rivers. The different colors of Himalayan beauty are displayed in different sects i.e. flora, landscape and local settlements. The drive goes past along the river Bhagirathi Ganga and continues to the holy town of Uttarkashi. The 2012 August flash floods have left the place battered. All the buildings are washed away and the road itself is very rocky. Huge boulders brought down by the raging river are strewn all around. Arrive Uttarkashi, transfer to hotel. Hot lunch would be served. After lunch rest for while, Thereafter visit Vishwanath Temple for Pooja and Darshan. In the evening refresh, sip hot tea with some crispy pakodas. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel at Uttarkashi.

 

Day 02

UTTARKASHI - SANGAMCHATTI (Drive 14 kms) Bevra (2250 Mts/7380 ft 8 kms trek/ 4- 5 hrs)

Early Morning Pack up your Trekking Gears & Take Breakfast. Post breakfast drive to Sangamchatti by cab, Arrive Sangamchatti a couple of huts, a broken iron bridge and a couple of concrete buildings make up Sangamchatti Ganga on a well made bridge, which is followed by an ascend of 5 km to take you to the village of Agoda. The local inhabitants of the village could be seen going to and fro from Sangamchatti, some busy in the fields others involved in their day to day activities. Lunch would be served. From here the trail is gradual for about 2 kilometers and continues to the village of Bevra, on reaching Bevra we will camp for the night on a lovely campsite surrounded by oak trees. In the evening, students can walk up to the ridge or take short walks in the nearby wilderness. Dinner & overnight at Bevra.

 

Day 03

BEVRA - DODITAL (3307mtrs 10847 ft) (13 Kms trek/ 7 hrs)

After breakfast trek to Dodital with Packed Lunch, The day's walk is relaxing and less challenging in comparison to the previous one. The trail passes through the forest of Rhododendron, involves a couple of side stream crossings goes over steep cliffs. We will stop for our packed lunch at Manjhi. A further 2 hour trek from Manjhi will take us to our destination, the scenic lake called Dodital which is famous for its beauty and The Himalayan Trout fish. Dodital is one of the very few water bodies where Himalayan Trout's are found. This picturesque lake is named after the rare Himalayan Trout's known as Dodi in local language. The origin of this Tal is from the natural springs and the source of river 'Asi Ganga’. The circumference of the lake is 1.5 kms. Dodital is supposed to be the birthplace of Lord Ganesha as per Hindu mythology. Night camping here is pleasing and enjoyable. Dinner & overnight in the tents at Dodital.

 

Day 04

DODITAL- DARWA TOP – SEEMA (14 KM TREK APPRX 8 Hrs)

After breakfast trek will continue to 5kms steep climb to Darwa Top. Situated at an altitude of 4150mts, Darwa Top offers splendid views of Himalayan horizon. Rhododendron tree line will start to fade away as you gain elevation while trekking to Darwa Pass. The Banderpoonch Massif is distinctly visible from Darwa Pass and Darwa Top along with Kalanag, Swargarohini etc & unnamed peaks. In between packed lunch would be served. After spending some time here we will walk gradually 9 kms till reach towards Sema Meadows. Dinner and Overnight stay at Camps.

 

Day 05

SEEMA – HANUMANCHATTI (10 KM TREK APPX)

In the morning after breakfast we will start our trek towards Hanuman Chatti through dense forest and local villages. Packed lunch would be served. In the late afternoon check in to hotel. Dinner and Overnight at Hanumanchatti.

 

Day 06

DRIVE FROM HANUMANCHATTI TO MUSSOORIE

After breakfast drive to Mussoorie, Enroute visit Kempty Fall, A stream of water running throughout the year starting from the southwest of the village of Banglow ki kandi moves northwest and falls from 4,500 ft. Arrive Kempy fall, thereafter trek downhill up to the fall. Enjoy cool splash in the falls. Arrive Mussoorie. Transfer to hotel. Check in & freshen up. Rest for while. Therafter time to visit Rope Way Ride up to Gun Hill, A historical and second highest peak of Mussoorie, Gun Hill is favourite place for viewing picturesque Himalayan range and Doon Valley. A popular view point of Mussoorie, Gun Point is located at 400 ft above The Mall and accessible by a cable car as well. Evening time at leisure on the Mall Road to buy souvenirs for near & dear ones. Return back to hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at Mussoorie.

 

Day 07

DRIVE TO DEHRADUN RAILWAY STATION

After Breakfast, Proceed to Dehradun Railway Station.
